YOU HAVE HIDDEN THESE THINGS FROM THE WISE

CHRISTIANITY

25At that time Jesus declared,

“I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children;

26yes, Father, for such was your gracious will.

27All things have been handed over to me by my Father and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.

28Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

29Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

MATTHEW 11:25-30

COMMENTARY

In this opportunity, Jesus clearly states the authority of GOD YHWH over his, by calling HIM, “LORD OF HEAVEN AND EARTH”, and by saying that “ALL THINGS HAVE BEEN HANDED OVER TO HIM BY HIS FATHER GOD”.

Lord JESUS CHRIST always acknowledged the supreme authority of LORD YAHWEH over his, as the MOST-HIGH GOD, and in this occasion, He mentioned how GOD, kept secret all the deliverance of his gospel from the proud and the arrogant, and reveal it instead to the humble.

This of course it is not a blindness caused deliberately by GOD to the scholars, but a self-inflicted blindness, due to the hardness of their hearts, puffed up by natural academic knowledge, without spiritual insight, that comes from honest intercommunion with GOD, prayer and the practice of piety.

Instead, the simplicity of heart in the humble and the common believer, were more sensitive to the call of faith and repentance of Jesus and his apostles, and were moved to accept them.

Finally, with this in mind, Lord JESUS, after proclaiming that nobody knows GOD The Father, better than the Son, and whoever the Son, JESUS, wanted to revealed HIM, Jesus invited all the listeners around, to come to Him and rest their souls, because his weight, his way, the true gospel, was a lot lighter than the heavy set of rules, the old Temple Judaism had put on the shoulders of the people.
