WHY DID JESUS SEND JAIRUS’S DAUGHTER TO BE FED AFTER
HE RESURRECTED HER?
The Gospels
record three resurrections JESUS performed during his earthly ministry.
He raised the son
of the widow of Nain,
Luke 7:11-17.
Lazarus, John 11:1-44.
And Jairus’s
daughter, Luke 8:40-56.
The narratives
are done to denote the mercy of our Lord and his power; therefore, no further details
are described in the stories. However, only in the case of Jairus, it is said
that JESUS commanded the parents to give food to their resurrected daughter.
When a person
dies, all the bodily functions stop totally, and even the blood flow becomes
stationary, starting in a few hours the process of decomposition.
In the case of
this 12 year old girl, the order to feed her was to kick start her metabolism running
again, because of her sudden come back to life from death. The process of
ingesting and digestion would send the whole body working again as normal.
Even though it
is not mentioned in the case of Lazarus and the widow’s son, it is assumed that
they were told to do the same thing, since they also needed to re-start their
metabolism into working condition again, apart from being brought to life by
the power of Jesus Christ.
