SINCE CHILDHOOD YOU KNOW THE HOLY SCRIPTURES

Image
THE EVENTOn one occasion, I went to a phone store to see different internet packages, and in the company of my mother, two attractive female young attendants came to serve us. They were in their early 20’s; one was blonde from Macedonia; and the other one had an exquisite southern Indian type, brunette, from Telugu nationality. After we have finished our business, I asked them if they were Christians. The blonde Macedonian told me that she was Muslim, and the pretty Indian said she was Hindu. To this, my mother as usual, spoke to them briefly about Lord Jesus, and in a friendly manner told them that Jesus was a good friend, and that always will be there to help them if they called Him in faith, and invited to them to pronounce the Name : “Jesus”. To my surprise they stepped back, the brunette refused with the head, and the blonde girl openly said “NO”. It seemed like they were afraid to pronounce the Holy Name of Jesus in that manner, with the devotion and reverence my mother was speak…

THE KILLING OF ANIMALS IN CHRISTIANITY

Image
In Christianity, all life is sacred and therefore all killing of life undesirable. Humans have by nature, not right to take away something they don’t own; and that includes life, even animal life                (Genesis 1:24-26; 2:7; Job 33:4; 1Timothy 6:13).Only God, who has given life to every living creature, be angel, human or animal, has the right to take it away (Deuteronomy 32:39). And indeed, God never intended for any creature to eat living flesh, when He created the world, but to eat plants (Genesis 1:29-30). However, when humanity fell into sinfulness, this caused the offering of animal sacrifice for the forgiveness of sins, which was ultimately culminated in the sacrifice of Lord Jesus on the Cross (Genesis 3:21; 4:4). It also, caused animal flesh to be given to humans as food, in order to survive in bigger numbers, in a cursed planet                         (Genesis 3:17-19; 9:1-6). But one thing God did not allow, was the consumption of blood as food. Since God was the a…

THE HOLY TRINITY

Image
REVELATION 1:4-5COMMENTARYThere have been arguments about who wrote this book, reputed to be the last one of the books of the New Testament. Some argued that it was written by a disciple of John the Apostle, called ‘John the Presbyter’, according to Eusebius comment on Papias (Church History, Book III:39:6); but the majority attribute the book to Apostle John, the beloved disciple of our Lord, who resided in Ephesus, Asia Minor, until his disappearance. Whoever it was, it was finally confirmed canonical by the total agreement of the Christian Church, all over the world by the V century, and it has been held as such since then. There are not passages in the Bible where the doctrine of the Trinity is explained. The term itself and the formulation, it is man-made, that tries to present in understandable manner, something that by nature is beyond human understanding. We are finite beings, we cannot fully comprehend the nature of GOD, who is infinite. We can only say what He is not, and wh…

CHRISTUS INVICTUS

Image
In comparative religion, the founders of various faiths are studied, purely from an historical point of view and their alleged teachings, trying to avoid as much, any pre-conceived dogmatic convictions that have no historical warrant. In Christianity, for example, the historical person of Jesus of Nazareth is called to analysis, without accrediting concepts like the resurrection or virginal conception. Purely and entirely from a sceptic point of view based only on the historical information available, and his alleged social and moral sayings contained in the Gospels and other documents that have no “super-natural” connotations. One interesting fact, that keeps repeating again and again, is that when the persona of Jesus of Nazareth is compared with the founders of other major religions, always, without a single exception, the historical person of Jesus of Nazareth comes triumphant in comparison to any other, according to his moral teachings and historical achievements. When Jesus of Na…
